Rainbet provably fair: verifying results yourself
Provably fair lets a player confirm that a result was fixed before the bet was placed and did not change according to what was staked. Every Rainbet Original works this way.
The three values
| Value | What it is |
|---|---|
| Client seed | A string you set, changeable at any time |
| Server seed | Generated by the server. Before the bet it is shown only as a hash |
| Nonce | A counter starting at 0, rising by one with each bet on the same seed pair |
The order is the point. The server seed is published as a hash before the bet, so it cannot be changed once the result is known. Rotate the seed pair and the original is revealed for comparison.
The steps
- Open the Fair Play tab in an Original to see the seeds in use. The server seed shows as a hash.
- Place a bet.
- Rotate the seed pair; the original server seed used before is revealed.
- On the Bets screen, open the bet you want to check.
- Open that bet's Provably Fair link to see the values used.
- Compare through the Verify tab or the algorithm published for that game.
Games drawing randomness from a blockchain
By Rainbet's own account, Case Battles and EOS Roulette take their randomness from EOS blockchain blocks — public events nobody can predict in advance — so the source sits outside the platform.
What about the other games
Slots and live games are run by their providers on random number generators audited by independent laboratories. The verification method differs, but in neither case does a player have to rely solely on the operator's word. The game list is on Rainbet Originals.
Frequently asked questions
What does provably fair prove?
That the result was fixed before the bet was placed, and did not change according to what or how much you staked.
When is the server seed revealed?
Before the bet it is shown only as a hash. After you rotate the seed pair, the original is revealed so earlier bets can be checked.
Can I change the client seed?
Yes, at any time. It is the value the player sets.
Can slots be verified this way?
No. Slots and live games run on independently audited random number generators. Player-side verification applies to Originals.
